The Benefits of a Personal Training Service

Do you want to get your body in perfect shape?

Of course you do, you want to feel better about yourself and you want to look better. You have tried exercising on your own and you can never seem to stick to it. You will stick the suggested routine for a few weeks, maybe even a few months. Then, it’s over just as quick as it began. You tell yourself it just wasn’t the right time or you were too busy. What you need is a helping hand. A personal trainer to guide you in the process of becoming physically fit.

What about the money?

You can’t afford a personal trainer. There are personal training services out there that are perfect for everyone. All you need is an affordable personal training service that fits your budget. It’s possible, a personal service at a fair price that won’t compromise the quality of your fitness training. Getting in shape and staying in shape is guaranteed to work when you have an expert designing a system created just for you. Here are the benefits of using a personal training service.

Exercise The Right Way

When a personal trainer is by your side, you will learn the correct way to exercise. You will be taught the proper form and technique. When exercising properly you are guaranteed to see results. You would be surprised at how many people really do not know that they have been exercising incorrectly all along. Once this is discovered, it makes perfect sense. They have been working their tails off but, seeing no results. It’s simple, they were doing it wrong. Either the incorrect form, not utilizing the weight right, or other factors.

An added benefit of learning to correctly utilize all the different techniques and forms is that you greatly lower the risk of injuries. Either by self-injuring yourself or accidental injuries such as a weight falling on you because you weren’t holding it right or it was too heavy.

Once you learn how to do your movements and techniques the right way. You will begin to see results. You will begin to lose fat and tone your body. It is a great feeling as you physically see the changes taking place.

Injury Prevention

A personal training service provides more about exercise safety than showing you how to correctly exercise. Your trainer will teach you how to use the gym equipment without injuring yourself. Many people tend to stray away from using certain exercise machines at their gym. Simply, because they don’t know how to use the machine. A personal trainer will take you through each piece of equipment in the gym and show you how to properly use it. When you decide together on what pieces of equipment you will be using on a regular basis, that best suit your needs, your trainer will be right there. He or she will walk you through the process and remain with you so that you feel safe knowing that someone got your back.

If you have received an injury outside of the fitness center. Your personal trainer will usually recommend that you continue to exercise. An injury is not an excuse to quit. Your trainer will assist you in different exercises that will benefit you in your recovery process. Almost as a form of physical therapy. Working with you and your physical therapist or doctor, together you will devise a routine suitable to your new limitations. Remember, a personal training service is only concerned with what is best for you.

Personalized Routine

One of the most important aspects of personal training is developing a fitness routine specifically designed to suit your needs. A personal trainer will develop a designated routine that will include a nutrition plan and a workout regimen. You have to be eating healthy as well as exercising right to obtain the proper results. Once your new nutrition plan and exercise plan are created, it will be adjusted to fit your daily schedule. This way you don’t over do it. You don’t want to physically exhaust yourself. You still need time for rest, relaxation, fun, family, and work in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

You have tried fitness programs before and none of them were successful. You didn’t follow through with any of them. Due to this, you might not have the support of your family and friends. Support can help you to accomplish goals in any aspect of your life. Support is a valuable tool. Don’t fear if you have no one to support you in your goal to become physically fit. Your personal trainer will be there, will support you and guide you. A trainer will not judge you. The time you spend with your personal trainer is all about you. He or she has your best interest in mind. Your trainer will help you to see your successes, no matter how big or how small they may be. He or she will also push you to do better, to finally see what you are truly capable of accomplishing, and to give you constructive criticism. Your personal trainer is there to help you and will remain a dependable influence in your life.

Now, that being said you need to find a good personal trainer. Here is a video of the top signs of a bad personal trainer

Ways to build motivation to go to your health club

fitness motivation

During the summer, it is usually easy to stay motivated in terms of fitness and getting to the health club near you. Let’s face it, in warm weather, many of us do not even need the gym. We prefer to exercise outdoors–walking, running, swimming, and/or a variety of outdoor sports–and enjoy the fresh air while getting a workout. However, as the colder weather approaches, you might find yourself losing interest in exercising or going to the gym. That is why it is important to stay motivated and keep on track with your fitness goals. That being said, here are some motivational tips for fitness.

  1. Focus on Small Steps or Changes–Do not set lofty or impossible fitness goals. Instead, try setting small, achievable goals each week. As you achieve each goal, it will hopefully motivate you to set even more fitness goals.
  2. Make Fitness Fun–Keeping fitness fun is a key to success. Therefore, select sports or activities that you enjoy, then vary the routine to keep you on your toes. If you are bored by your workouts, try something new. Take dance classes, try outdoor sports or athletic leagues, and/or check out your local health club or martial arts center. Remember to keep things lively because you are much more likely to stick with a fitness routine if you are having fun.
  3. Incorporate Exercise Into Your Daily Routine–In today’s busy world, sometimes it is hard to find time for exercise. However, do not give up or give in. Instead, try scheduling your workouts as you would any other important activity. Moreover, you can also slip in exercise throughout the day. For instance, you could take the stairs instead of the elevator, try walking/running/marching in place, park far away from the building and walk, etc. You could also ride a stationary bike, do isometric exercises, or use resistance bands while working or watching TV.
  4. Establish a Fitness Buddy System–Invite friends, family members, or co-workers to join you when you exercise. Work out with a buddy or other loved ones. Try to combine family bonding time with fitness via outdoor sports, a group walk, or organize a group of family/friends to take fitness classes at a local health club. Sometimes having a fitness buddy is motivation enough to stick with an exercise routine, and if you begin to slack off, they can help get you back on track.
  5. Reward Yourself–After each exercise session, take some time to savor the endorphins created via exercise. This habit can help motivate you and make regular exercise a part of your life. Tangible rewards can also be beneficial. For instance, when you achieve a long-term goal, treat yourself to a massage, new pair of walking shoes, or some new music to enjoy while you exercise.

Sometimes it can be a challenge to stay motivated and stick with an exercise program. At times, getting to the health club or gym might not be possible. However, many of us do not even need a gym or prefer to exercise outdoors. There are plenty of activities that provide a terrific workout such as walking, running, swimming, and a variety of outdoor sports, yet do not require a gym. Whether a health club is involved or not, it is important to stay motivated and keep on track with your fitness goals.

Top 5 Ways to Market Your Gym

marketing gyms

Here is a fitness tip for all my gym owners who are struggling to get clients.

The fitness industry is booming. With 1/3 of the American population either overweight or obese, fitness and fitness related programs have become a mainstay of the American culture. That’s good news for the fitness professional. The bad news is that there are a lot of fitness related products and services on the market now. Standing out among the crowd takes hard work and a fair amount of marketing know-how. Don’t let that discourage you. Below are my top five tips and tricks for gym owners, to help them set their business apart from the rest.

1. SEO Services

A recent survey revealed that most Americans search online before making any major purchases. The same is true for those looking to invest in a gym membership or new fitness equipment. Your gym’s web page or blog should be Search Engine Optimized so that it pops up when potential clients are searching for local gyms and gyms reviews. If you aren’t a marketing wizard and most people aren’t, it may be worth your time to invest in an SEO service for gyms. Believe it or not, there are marketing services targeting the fitness industry specifically. Since your first point of contact with most new clients will be online, get a professional to design an effective marketing and social media campaign for your gym.

2. Create Social Groups

The fitness trend for 2015 are leaning more towards small group training sessions. Take advantage of that trend and use Facebook or other social media platforms to set up Summer Slim Down or Beach Ready groups that use your gym as their training and meeting location. This way you will attract new clients, retain older ones, and create positive reviews and feedback surrounding your gym.

3. Healthy Business Competition

Be the official gym of a fitness challenge for local businesses. This will take some legwork, but it is well worth the effort. Get local businesses to join the challenge and put together a fitness team. Decide what the goal will be. (% of weight lost, number of hours logged at the gym, etc) Then offer participants free trial memberships. Be sure to put up a big display at the front desk to keep track of who is winning. Once participants get in the habit of going to the gym, they are more likely to continue going after the challenge has ended. This is an ideal opportunity to build up your e-mail list for an e-mail campaign and sign up new members, so encourage your front desk staff to push these options. This is a great way to get fresh faces in the gym and create some positive buzz about your facility.

4. Social Media Campaign

Run a mobile ad on Facebook. Offer non-members a free week pass if they check-in on Facebook or Foursquare. Allow your guests to upgrade their free week pass to a free month long pass if they leave a Google Review. Once again, this will take a little effort on behalf of your front desk, but you create buzz and gain new members this way.

5. Videos

The growth of virtual personal training sessions and online gyms has tapped into a great opportunity for you and your staff. Streaming home workouts is a growing trend. So too are health and fitness videos featuring local personal trainers and fitness instructors. Recording a weekly or bi-weekly segment where you offer yoga poses, healthy eating tips, strength training advice or recommend health-related products and services will get you noticed. It will also help to brand your gym as a hub of information. Be sure to feature your employees and instructors in your videos. End with a call to action and give your gym’s location, web address, and phone number in the video description. As long as the content is valuable and uploaded regularly you will gain a following. Don’t forget to answer questions left in the comments section either in a short reply or in the following video. Uploading videos to your company’s YouTube, Daily Motion, Google+ and Facebook pages will help you get the word out.

The essence of a good marketing plan is to show your audience that you offer a value-added experience. Using both conventional and digital marketing technique lowers the barriers of entry for your clients and communicates your credibility with a new generation of digital native gym goers.
